Coach Smith and wife, Coach Diane Smith (whose picture will appear shortly in the space to the right) have both coached for years at all levels of athletics. Playing careers in high school and the college level, combined with coaching careers, qualify them to write on the subject of what is involved in kids playing at the athletic level "Beyond Youth Sports"

Their coaching careers includes youth leagues to head high school coaching with duties in tennis, boys and girls basketball, softball, track, soccer, football and baseball.

Coach Jerry Smith has written a weekly column in the local newspaper for over three decades including six years of his popular Sports Spots, several years writing Heart of the Matter and in latter years, a general weekly editorial.
